About Us

Anna HeywoodAnna was born in 1980, the youngest of three sisters, and grew up in Germany and Yorkshire.  She left the north of England to read Archaeology and Anthropology at Cambridge, where, among other things, she met Luke, and avoided early-morning lectures by taking up rowing.  While in London, she worked for the Museum of London Archaeology Service as a Project Assistant.

Her interests include Archaeology, particularly that of Africa and Latin America, travel, outdoor activities and languages.

You can contact Anna by emailing anna@africabybike.org.

Luke SkinnerLuke was born in South Wales in 1979, and grew up loving the outdoors, with both parents working in outdoor pursuits.  Besides walking, climbing, sailing and kayaking he also enjoys cycling (!) along with travel, languages, photography and writing.  Luke takes most of the photos you see brightening up the pages of this site.

After graduating from Cambridge with a degree in Zoology, he moved to London to work, but remains deeply patriotic (particularly when it comes to the rugby!).  Luke put his knowledge of travelling and the world to good use working as a sales consultant for travel company Dial-a-Flight.

He can be contacted by emailing luke@africabybike.org.
